About Hendré
Hi! I’m Hendré, a biology student from the Cape region of South Africa. As a young child, Steve Irwin and Sir David Attenborough crawled into my brain and never left, leading to a lifelong adoration for the natural world.
I am passionate about carnivorous plants, orchids, ants, and just about any other reptile, insect, or arachnid on top of that. As an avid photographer I hope to share this enthusiasm with you through captures of these amazing plants and animals. I started Cape Carnivores to better display the fantastic diversity of Drosera, orchids, and other natural beauty the cape has to offer through my numerous rambles in the region.
I am working with Alex Dietrick to describe some novel species, as well as produce other scientific content on drosera. Thanks for coming by 🙂
Drosera cistiflora is a favourite of mine! How about a field full!
