Drosera zeyheri
Zeyher’s Sundew

Drosera zeyheri is a small but mighty winter growing sundew sometimes considered synonymous with D. cistiflora. Nontheless it is a fascinating species, bearing small white-pink flowers with 0-3 leaves on the stem. Western specimens are diminutive, with size increasing in the eastern parts of its distribution.
It is a commly seen in low-lying areas within 50km of the coast and flowers in September-October. Like the other winter-growing species it is summer dormant and will grow in damp to wet soils, especially in the clayey renosterveld biomes.
